I was also really tempted by the rugs sold on the second floor, but they were all so huge—I couldn't lift them, and shipping them back to China would have been a hassle, so I didn't buy one.

The gold jewelry in the market looked exquisitely crafted, so I imagine the workmanship fees alone would be much higher than back in China. I really love that exotic style, but I didn't quite dare to go over and ask—I was worried the sales staff might be overly enthusiastic.
